Black tea latte
Strong tea and thick evaporated milk on ice
Hong Kong's everyday drink, born in the cha chaan teng, the neighbourhood cafés of the 1950s. A strong blend of black teas is strained again and again through a fine cloth (locals call it "silk stocking" tea) and finished with evaporated milk: a silky cup with a gentle bitterness.
